Reinstalling windows for productivity

Back when i lived in the UK i would have a very strange computer maintenance and working style.

I would use a computer and when it was full i would just unplug it, push it aside and plug in another one.

Due to the way its not so easy to get a computer to suit me out of the box in Spain i need to now clean up my mess as i go along.

Most SEO`s seem to have a level of ADD so they bounce from one project to another, maybe working on up to 30 or more projects at a time.

This is a habit i am trying to change so i recently set aside a few days to backup and clean my laptop so i could just focus on what i needed to.

Apparently successful people are more organised so this time i am looking to get orgamized and keep everything clean.

Hopefully i can do a series of posts documenting my change from unorganized dumb ass seo to efficiency in business development.

The trouble with reinstalling is putting back all my programs.

Programs i put back on in order which will turn into a page of programs and FireFox addons i use.

Looking forward to a more efficient and organised 2009.

Got Recession? Got Cash? Got Tech Skills? Its a Glorious Time!

Over the last few years i have been working on contract for some online casino and online poker sites and i was very well paid just for my opinion and for non compete.

Most of the online casinos are run by people with a lot of money made offline and they think they can make bank online with little or no actual skills so my services were very much in demand.
Part of what i did was made sure they didn’t make any really stupid mistakes, but in the end they won and just broke everything they touched.

I knew that the gravy train would run dry eventually so i took the money and made sure i never spent any as there was signs a long time ago that gloomy times would come.
Combining my contract work with my large affiliate earnings meant i had a larger than average bank balance, so i was in a very good position when most people were starting to struggle financially.

Being involved in such a lucrative industry and watching people with no talent or abilty making lots of money made me want a piece of it myself so i was always looking for opportunity.

The opportunity presented its self when i got the chance to buy a majority share in an online poker company called Spin32 Entertainment.

Everything was in place and the poker rooms were busy but something was missinng to give the company a push in the right direction.

The USP (unique selling proposition) i had to offer the CEO was my SEO skillz, very large domain portfolio, my online traffic generation system and my large bankroll.

I took the lead on the site in making decisions and cuts to rake in a 30% rise in profit the first month plus putting some money in to make the company have a very positive cash flow and stabilty for the future.

Aside from the poker room things are opening up for all across the coast because of my tech skills and bankroll.
Businesses funded by the boom and a crappy website are starting to see very tough times and they are unable to compete with people who embraced the web and had a solid business plan.

Many people say that you shouldnt invest in businesses around recession time but i disagree strongly.
Fueled by the past property and migration boom in and around the Marbella area there have been web design and SEO companys milking the stores and businesses for rediculous amounts of money.
I have seen people paying service costs for websites upto $1200 a month just for hosting and a crappy asp cms.
This is where i come in because the businesses can no longer afford to pay these fees and are struggling in all different kinds of ways because they never needed marketing or a business plan.

Instead of offering SEO and marketing as a service i offer it as a bargaining tool to take a large share of the business.

Like i said.

Recession is a glorious time.

Every so often i feel like i should blog and every so often i feel like i have something to share.

Seems like a fantastic idea until i post something i regret, need to update it or move servers.

So here i am again for the 5th time of deciding to blog.

I am guessing it will be dead by mid january because i dont often have much to say.
